Monkey Mace: All you need is e-mail, e-mail.... →
monkeymace:
Why build a new messaging product when the basic functionality of email combined with a little effort from the user can achieve the same result?
Everyone is trying to tackle the problem of private group communication. Like, Google, Glassboard, Groupme, Life360, and I’ll even add Path to this…
I definitely agree with this. Please stop reinventing/imitating email and just use...

It’s not everyday you go to Coles to buy chicken thighs and it says “As seen on My Kitchen Rules”, fairly certain more people would relate to “As seen on chickens” more so, there’s some food for thought- see what I did there? ha ha ha
Lols, I bought some chicken drumsticks and they said the same thing on them: “As seen on My Kitchen Rules”

A call to the Tumblr team →
david:
This is an open comment to Tumblr dev/community staff - and I’m posting this on my Tumblr blog too.
I understand that you guys are hugely busy, and that in the grand scheme of things API support for community programmers is hardly a priority. We’re all devs here, I don’t think anyone expects constant interaction.
You’re absolutely right — we’ve been letting down our developer...

I’m so excited! Yesterday, Ciera woke up to find an email saying that her Australian residency visa had been granted! She’s now officially an Australian resident (well, once she arrives here anyways). Tomorrow is our three-year anniversary, and this is quite possibly the best anniversary present we could have gotten. I’m ecstatic :D
We’ve already...

Busy November
Lots of stuff this month!
3 days until my last university class ever (unless I go back for postgrad one day). 4 days until my girlfriend Ciera and I have our third anniversary. 14 days until my first exam. 22 days until my last exam. 27 days until I start working full-time. And hopefully Ciera gets her Australian partner visa soon so she can come back here.
This year’s been pretty...

Stuff to do once exams are over!
I’ve got exams coming up in less than a month, then university will be over! For my own reference (as a note to myself), here’s a list of stuff I want to do once exams are all over.
Write a blog post about my trip to the USA
Rewrite the JavaScript on my site to use my new framework
Make mobile stylesheet for my site and blog.
Learn Ruby and Rails

Surrounded by ugly HTML →
I really do think some web developers don’t know what they’re doing and are unable to use any HTML tags other than <div>.

openphotome:
You read a lot about building your API first and then your application on top of it. It’s actually quite difficult (translated, requires discipline) unless you start off with the right framework.

Sometimes I feel like I’m too demanding on my girlfriend. I always complain to her when I’m feeling bad and she tries to help me the best she can. I’m really surprised she can put up with and deal with me.
I love you, Ciera! :)

I don't know how to IE6 →
colbyrabideau:
It’s time to stop supporting IE6. No not because it isn’t standards compliant, or because the biggest companies on the web don’t think it’s economically feasible to continue to support archaic technology, or even because we would be doing our users a favor by forcing them to upgrade. No, it’s…
I wish I didn’t ever have to learn how to IE6. Unfortunately I started web...
